From bottle to bank. From shakes to soil.
I did not build To The Carp Gods as a brand. I built it because I needed a place where all the parts of my life could exist together. Carp angling. Recovery. Growing food. Cooking. The quiet work of staying free.
None of those things are separate. They are all the same work.
Sober since 30 March 2022. That date is not a slogan. It is the day the noise started to drop. I am coming up on a year medication-free. The body is catching up with the mind. Some mornings I still feel the old wiring. I do not let it drive.
The bank held me when the rooms could not. A still water at first light does not care about your story. It only responds to how you show up. Sit there long enough and the arguments with ghosts start to lose.
Then the soil. Hands in the dirt. The allotment does not clap. It just tells you the truth about seasons, patience, and what happens when you rush.
Rush growth and you get legginess. Weak foundations. All over the place. Same in recovery. Same in business. Root first and strength follows.
I trained as a chef at Fifteen Cornwall. I took RHS Level 1 at the Eden Project. More than 35 years with a rod in my hand, most of them after carp. The kitchen taught discipline. The garden taught cycles. The water taught respect. Put those three in a man who has been to the bottom and you get a life, not a feed.
If you are new here, start in the groups. Drop a photo. Stay for the people. The journal is here when you want the longer story. Patreon is how this stays standing.
It is not a brand. It is a testimony.
