Chef's Corner
TTCG Pillar · Recipes, Techniques & Culinary Stories
Food has always been more than sustenance for me. It is a language, a craft, and one of the most powerful ways human beings connect with each other. My culinary journey began in the kitchens of College Camborne and took me to places I never imagined — including the pass at Fifteen Cornwall, where I learned that cooking is not just about feeding people, but about transforming lives.
Chef's Corner is where I share that journey — the recipes, the techniques, the industry stories, and the philosophy that great food starts with great ingredients, honest preparation, and a genuine love for the people you are feeding.

Lessons from Fifteen Cornwall
Fifteen Cornwall was not just a restaurant — it was a social enterprise. Founded by Jamie Oliver, it gave young people from challenging backgrounds the chance to train as professional chefs. Working there taught me that the kitchen is a microcosm of life: it demands discipline, teamwork, creativity under pressure, and the humility to learn from your mistakes.
The philosophy of Fifteen — that food can be a vehicle for social change — has stayed with me. It is woven into everything TTCG does. When I cook on the bank, when I share a recipe, when I talk about the importance of sitting down together over a meal, I am carrying forward the lessons of that kitchen.
"The best meals are not the most complicated. They are the ones made with care, shared with people you love, in places that matter."
From Garden to Plate
One of the things that makes TTCG unique is the intersection between our pillars. The Horticulture Hub feeds directly into Chef's Corner — literally. Growing your own herbs, vegetables, and salad leaves, then using them in your cooking, creates a connection to food that no supermarket can replicate.
We are developing content that bridges these two worlds: growing guides paired with recipes, seasonal eating calendars, and the simple pleasure of cooking with ingredients you have nurtured from seed. This is food at its most honest — and it is accessible to everyone, whether you have a full allotment or a single herb pot on a windowsill.
Bankside Cooking
There is a special kind of satisfaction in cooking a proper meal on the bank. Not a pot noodle or a cold sandwich, but something that honours the time you have spent outdoors — a one-pot stew simmered over a gas stove, fresh bread warmed in foil, a flask of proper coffee as the sun comes up. Bankside cooking is where Chef's Corner meets Carp Chronicles, and it is one of the most popular topics in our community.
